Fast Forward Challenge
The Fast Forward Challenge was our big competition for 2013.
The challenge for students was to choose between a test for reaction speed or concentration. They then had to consider factors that could impair speed or concentration and think about how they could help drivers overcome such problems. Finally, they had to devise an experiment to test their idea. It all had to be tested in school and then replicated in front of judges. The winners were chosen on the basis of who could demonstrate best that their idea could help McLaren prepare Formula 1TM drivers for the mental and physical challenges of the Grand Prix circuit.
All the finalists had an amazing day out at the McLaren Technology Centre (MTC) but Waldegrave School for Girls in Twickenham were crowned overall 2013 winners and won £1,000 of science equipment vouchers!
